5 Things You MUST DO on Long Haul Flights

Surviving a long-haul flight is more important on your way there than on your way back. You want to arrive to your destination ready to have fun! Not jet lagged, covered in blemishes, ready to nap. Below are 5 tips and tricks on getting through your long haul flights.

1. Take a Nap

Getting Jet lagged is never fun. I used to travel back and forth between coasts all the time and the time change got me almost every time. Land as well rested as you can be! I always try to take at least one nap with brown noise in my headphones to give my brain a bit of a break. Airport day can take a toll on your body and you don’t want it to get in the way of your trip.

2. Be Bare Faced

I know you may want glam for those airport pictures but resist! You’re about to be in a very dry environment. Your skin will have trouble even without makeup on. Stick to a good moisturizer and ditch the makeup- no matter how light you think it is. Even if it’s just mascara, chances are you’re going to get off the plane looking like a raccoon. If you really want to land and have a full face, I get up sometimes right before landing and head to the bathroom to put some light makeup on. The Last thing you want is to break out during your vacation because you had to wear makeup on your flight.

3. Plenty of Water

Like I said before, you’re about to be in a very dry environment for a very long time. Drink plenty of water! Press your button and ask for water, bring a water bottle with you, and make sure you stay hydrated. I’ve gotten off planes and had my throat hurt for days because of how dry the plane was.

4. Skincare

I always bring some form of a mask with me. Either under an eye mask or a full face mask. Just make sure it’s a sheet mask! Getting a mud mask or peeling mask off can be rather difficult while in a confined area. You may see a theme here, but a hydrating mask can go a long way.

5. Buy the Wifi

Just buy it. You’re going to be sitting there for 5+ hours, no amount of downloaded content will fill your brain for that long. You will end up sorting your photos or playing a game for hours that you have only played 3 times. Buy it at the beginning of your flight to get your money’s worth. If you have a layover, try buying a day pass or pick the longer flight to buy your wifi on.
